Wildpark Ferleiten
The wildlife and amusement park on the Großglocknerstraße in Ferleiten is a wonderful excursion destination: Here, at 1140m above sea level, more than 200 animals live in a 15ha park amidst an impressive mountain world. You can see deer, wolves, lynx, wild boar, bears, birds and of course many small animals.. The barrier-free walkway offers beautiful views of the spectacular scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park. In the petting zoo, the animals wait for petting units and the ponies to be groomed. In the associated adventure park on 20.000 m² there are 40 posibilities to play, waiting for action lovers. A wonderful excursion and a special nature experience for the whole family.
Pony riding & pony farm
With the KIDS CLUB your children have the possibility to make a weekly trip to the pony farm. There the handling of the animals is taught and the children are allowed to help with feeding, grooming and stroking. Pony riding is also very popular with our little guests. Under the supervision of the caregivers and the trained riding staff the beautiful nature of our region is discovered on the back of the ponies. Private riding lessons are also possible.
Lamas & Alpakas
One of the most popular activities at the HAIDVOGL KINDERHOTEL Zell am See is the hike with Lamas & Alpakas. Burgi, our lama guide, enchants young and old with a lot of humour and knowledgeable facts about her interesting animals and the region. She is always good for a surprise! After an introduction, the children are allowed to walk with the lamas on their own. A great little excursion into nature for the whole family.
Animal farms
In the region of Zell am See there are many great farms which you can visit. Give your children an insight into life in harmony with animals and the region. How about a visit to the hencoop to see if there are some fresh eggs? What products are made from milk? Explore the origins of regional products with lots of fun and animal-experience for the little ones.
Marmots
You can admie these popular little animals are not only in the Ferleiten Wildlife Park. Those who want to observe the "Mankei" (word for marmots in the Pinzgau region) in their natural habitat, can do this best on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Near the "Franz Josef Höhe", you can mostly find them. A little further up there are also capricorns to be admired. Small tip: Take a little food (apples, carrots,. . ) for the marmots with you. This way you can get closer to the animals and the fight over the food creates the funniest photo motive for your holiday album.
